SNOWMOBILING
In Glacier Country, you'll find miles of groomed and ungroomed snowmobile trails. Snowmobiles on public land must be registered and display a decal. Snowmobiles currently registered in other states are not required to display a Montana registration decal. For snowmobiles not currently registered, a non-resident, temporary-use permit is required; call the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks at 406-444-2535.

Marias Pass Trail Complex
A system of trails straddling the Continental Divide midway between Kalispell and Cut Bank. 45 miles of groomed trails; 35 miles of ungroomed trails. Call the Cut Bank Chamber of Commerce at 406-873-4041.

The Flathead Valley

Silver Country
Trails begin just off of I-90 near Haugan and Thompson Falls. A main loop connects to the 1,000 mile network of Silver Country, the largest continuous snowmobile trail system in the Continental U.S. Call the Thompson Falls Chamber of Commerce at 406-827-4930.

Libby/Ten Lakes/Yaak Area

Mission Mountains
Try the Boulder Trail near Finley Point on Flathead Lake; the first 10 miles are groomed, leading to 60 miles of ungroomed trails. The Jocko Lake Trail is a 35-mile ride that connects to the Seeley Lake trails. Call the Ronan Chamber of Commerce at 406-676-8300. .

Garnet
About 30 miles east of Missoula, the Garnet National Winter Recreation Trail provides a unique ride through Garnet, one of Montana's best preserved ghost towns.
